![]() As for the dated room, the shower was very small and felt really old. I saw online that it is only a mile from downtown so I assumed it would be easy to walk to all the restaurants/shops, however it is not somewhere I would walk- 2 high speed round-abouts to get through and busy roads. My biggest complaints were that the room felt a bit dated (more than they looked in the pictures I saw) and it was not convenient to get to downtown Napa by walking. The best parts were the back yard/grounds & the complimentary 3-course breakfasts. ![]() I recently stayed at the Candlelight for my honeymoon trip to Napa. It had high ratings on ship advisor and it had several fabulous reviews I just don’t understand how they can charge what they charge for the room that we were staying in. But I began to feel claustrophobic very quickly there was dust on a lot of the vents which aggravated my breathing so unfortunately after 20 minutes there we checked out I could not stay there one night. The bathroom was cute and quaint I do have to give it a thumbs up. The blanket on the edge of the bed was thin and worn and it would not be something that I would use at all. The room smelled damp it was crowded and had wood paneling on the walls. The room was up three flights of stairs the carpet on the stairs in the room was blue and very worn and old looking. Pictures on their website are false advertising. We had to not to be let in and then they give you a key to be able to come in and out of the Inn. We arrived at the candlelight and with high expectations. If you want to see Napa and need a place to sleep that's nicer than a motel, this can fit the bill, but don't expect luxury. If you need something, there's an office area with a closed door that you can knock on, and someone might answer, but maybe not. Generally the place feels weirdly deserted-when we arrived, there was no one to check us in and we had to walk around to the back. On the first day, one of the staff offered us a glass of wine, but this never happened again. After that, they sometimes had leftover pastries from breakfast. On our first day, they had break-and-bake cookies and drip coffee in a large office-style carafe. Website promises "a range of wine, snacks, coffee, and drinks throughout the day"-this was a disappointment. Everything feels like it needs a deep clean. Carpets and curtains feel old and dated, like you're in grandma's house. Our room had a tub that stepped out directly onto carpet, not even a mat. Countertops which are tidy and open in the online photographs are cluttered with Keurig coffee makers, hairdryers, etc. Property is a large house at the end of a neighborhood cul-de-sac, converted to an inn. The not-so-good: the room photos are highly misleading. The good: excellent three-course breakfast served each morning-it's delicious, and super filling.
